Question:
How do you answer the question, “why do you want this job?” You CAN’T say “for the money.” This is going to be the first interview I’ve gone to, and I know that all managers ask that question: “why do you want this job” or, “why do you want to work here?” But my problem and worry is that I won’t be able to answer it properly. What is the BEST answer to use when you’re going into any interview, like for retail, food, anything?
Answer:
Ask them before they ask you! Ask them what kind of person they are hoping to find for the job. Ask about the job duties. Ask about how much customer interaction or product knowledge is needed. Ask how you will be trained. Research the company before you go in to find out what they do. Then twist it all up, put on your best game face and tell them you CAN do that job because… make some crap up. Tell them what they want to hear.
But if they ask you first before you get a chance to ask your questions, just politely say that you have some questions you’d to ask about the job first to make sure we’re a good fit for each other.
